Extensive group of items that belonged to Sergeant Michael E. O'Brin, ASN 35277377, who enlisted on February 24, 1942 and served with I Company, 142nd Infantry Regiment, 36th Division. Center piece of the group is the Purple Heart medal O'brin received after he was wounded in France on December 8, 1944 and the Western Union telegram. Present are also his early type leatherette cover identifoication card, Individual Pay record, Combat Infantry badge, campaign map, Unit roster with O'Brin (spelled O'Brien) in it, various booklets, documents and many newspaper clippings. In all a great group that deserves further research and proper display.
