ID-ed Captain Paul F. Flamm, ASN O-394654, who served with the HQ Company of the 84th Chemical Mortar Battalion. It was an independent unit that was attached to other units on a temporary basis. Rare, unique and extensive group of books, documents and photos. Included is the unit history book of which Flamm was the editor, the rare Advance To Rome book which was printed in a Limited Edition (each book was numbered, Flamm's copy is number 1682), newsletter booklet, large size photo of Flamm in service dress and a large size color photo of Flamm in Italy, several small photos of which one is also in the unit book, three aerial photos, 1941 dated map of Bizerte, Chemical Warfare School certificate with Flamm on it, plastic 4.7 Inch chemical mortar M1A1 range indicator card, four page write up about the forming of the battalion (with 2nd Lt Flamm in Company D), Yank magazine and numerous other papers and documents of which many about the early days of the unit, 1942.
Items of a small units such as the 84th CML Mortar Bn are rare and extremely difficult to find. Especially groupings of this size and ID-ed to one of the leading officers of the unit. This group contains a wealth of information and deserves thorough research. It is a top addition to a collection. View the many photos of this superb group!
