Americans, the story of the 442d combat team

Quick Overview

This is the official unit book of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team. The regiment is best known for its history as a fighting unit composed almost entirely of second-generation American soldiers of Japanese ancestry (Nisei). Beginning in 1944, the regiment fought primarily in the European Theatre. Many of the soldiers had families in internment camps while they fought abroad. The unit's motto was "Go for Broke". The 442nd Regiment was also the most decorated unit of the US unit during WWII. Items of the 442nd RCT are rare and this book is no exception. It hardly ever comes up for sale. This is the hard to find original version, not some reprint. A 'must have' for the WWII history buff or anyone with a specific interest in the 442nd RCT.

Very good condition.
