2nd Armored Division group

2nd Armored Division group

Quick Overview

Group of items that belonged to Robert H. Lowe, ASN 7040163, who enlisted on May 30, 1940. Lowe served with the 14th Armored Field Artillery Battalion. The group consists of a LIFE magazine, In the field booklet with the 2nd Armored Division booklet, 702nd Tank Destroyer Battalion & 195th Anti-Aircraft battalion booklet, sweetheart pillow case, photos, dogtag, 14th FAB crest, EM Artillery collar disk, 2nd Armored Division patch with tab and discharge paper. The 'In the field' booklet was printed early in the war when Patton was still the commander of the 2nd Armored Division. It has some water damage throughout. The other booklet was printed in 1945. The interior is loose from the cover but it can be glued back easily if desired. Both booklets are quite hard to find. Rowe served all over Europe and was in the army until 1947, which is also indicated on his dogtag. The photos seem to be taken during training. The patch seems to be German made. Nice group that could do with further research.

Very good condition.
