General Patton's prayer for good weather card

€ 750.00

Quick Overview

Iconic card that was handed out to all the troops of the 3rd Army mid December 1944. The prayer was written by the Chief Chaplain of the 3rd Army, Msgr. James H. O'Neill. General Patton wrote his Christmas Greetings to the troops for the reverse side. About 250.000 cards were printed by the 664th Engineer Topographical Company. Because these prayer cards are small (business card size) were printed on regular paper and handed out during combat conditions it is no surprise not many survived. They are extremely difficult to find and actually much rarer than Ike's D Day note. This is a superb piece for display. Insured package shipping is mandatory for this item.

Very good condition.
