ID pass & document group 344th Engineers
Group that belonged to Merle V. Snyder, ASN 20539770, who enlisted on January 17, 1941 and served with D Company of the 344th Engineering General Service Regiment. The unit was attached to the 7th Army and served all over Europe including Operation Dragoon. The group contains the early style leatherette ID pass which has not been stampend 'Inactive', a Western Union telegram and two cards. What makes the group extra cool is the small booklet in which Snyder kept track of the places he had been. It specifically mentions the landing in Southern France on August 15, 1944. Nice group for display and with a lot of potential for further research. Very good condition.
