St Clair liner, 1st type camouflaged
1st type St Clair liner with green painted interior, rayon suspension, rectangular steel washers and fixed leather chinstrap with square slide buckle. Although the leather chinstrap is present it is very fragile. The liner has a small yellow SC stamp in the dome. This yellow SC stamp is presented in my M-1 Helmet book, the 2010 Schiffer Edition on page 154 (bottom right). Green interior St Clair liners are the most difficult ones to find. Especially in this nice all original condition. But what makes this liner truly superb is the fact it has a hand painted camouflage scheme. This type of camouflage is associated with early campaigns (Africa, Italy). Original camouflaged helmets and liners are exceedingly difficult to find.
A green interior St Clair liner is missing from nearly all collections. This is your chance to add such a rare gem to the collection plus it is camouflaged! The liner is 100% original and its maker's stamp is presented in a book. View the many photos.
This is a liner from the M-1Helmet.com collection.
