St Clair liner, type 11
Low pressure type 11 liner produced by the St Clair. It features textured OD exterior paint and cotton suspension with steel A washers, early type leather chinstrap with green coated flat lever buckle and large yellow SC stamp in the dome. It is complete with its cotton headband and neckband. The initial RP are written the liner and on the headband.
Typical for this type of St Clair liner is that it was painted after being constructed with the rivet heads painted along with the exterior of the liner. It was the last series of liners produced by St Clair.
This particular St Clair liner is featured in the M-1 Helmet book (pages 168-169 of the 2007 Limited Edition and pages 176-177 of the 2010 Schiffer Edition). It seems to have hardly been worn, if at all, and is in great shape. It is 100% original, nothing added, nothing replaced. St Clair liners are quite difficult to find, especially this nice. This is a superb piece for a collection plus it is featured in a book! You will be hard pressed to find a nicer example. This gem has been in my collection for a long time but it is time for a new home. View the many photos. This is a liner from the M-1Helmet.com collection. Excellent condition.
