Varga Pin Up gatefold "All-American babe"

€70.00

Gatefold of the Esquire magazine of September 1944. Alberto Vargas followed up George Petty as the Pin Up artist with Esquire magazine in 1941. His 'Varga-girls' soon became famous and his work was inspirational for nose-art on many planes. Varga created a series of Pin Ups which were presented in the magazine as 'Gatefolds' (fold out posters). Stunning artwork that was most popular among GI's! Verse by Phil Stack. Size is approximately 44.5 x 35.5 centimeters. The right side of the poster is discoloured due to the wartime lower grade paper. This will look awesome framed! Very good condition.
