Quick Overview

Published by Esquire and consisting of the Varga Pin Up calendar of 1944 a Hurrell girl jig-saw puzzle. This set was produced in 1943. All twelve months of the calendar are present. Stunning artwork. This was the nr. 1 calendar for all GI's! Varga followed up George Petty as the Pin Up artist with Esquire magazine in 1941. His 'Varga-girls' soon became famous and his work was inspirational for nose-art on many planes and flightjackets (see last photo). Susan Hayward is pictured on the jig-saw puzzle which is all complete and accompanied by its envelope. Hurrell was a famous glamour photographer who worked for Esquire. Great wartime set of items which is hard to find complete.

Very good condition.
