K ration crate

€ 159.00

Quick Overview

Wooden case that contained 12 K ration set (36 boxes). Produced by Patten Food Products. With desirable November 1943 pre D Day date. Of special interest is the efact the crate has the early style lettering in the inside, likely because the wood was reused. And also the OMAHA QM stamp on the side. This crate was found in Normandy and may very well have been marked to be dropped off at Omaha Beach. The crate is nice and clean with strong markings. It misses however two sections of the bottom. This is an easy repair, if desired. The additional markings on this crate warrant a place in a collection. K ration crates are becoming increasingly difficult to find.

Very good condition.
