Temporary grave cross

Quick Overview

British made steel marker for a temporary grave. There is a plate riveted to the cross which has 'Unknown German Soldier' on it. Plus there are four drilled holes which probably held another plate with information. Also there are some painted numbers present. The cross has F&L, the broad arrow and 1944 on the back. It measures about 102 x 40 centimeters. This cross was recovered from the Saint Lambert sur Dives area. It was also displayed in a magazine (see scans which come with the cross). It is a poignant relic of the Normandy battle. Also see last two photos of similar crosses during WWII.

Please note this is a large and heavy item to ship. The calculated shipping fee may not be sufficient to cover the expenses. This will be checked before shipment.
